The Weather Channel presents Space Week, beginning Friday, July 5, through Friday, July 12. A first for the network, Space Week is dedicated to science and space lovers, with out of this world space-themed programming, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at space weather forecasting and how weather affects space exploration.
Space Week programming includes:
· An all-new episode of "Weather That Changed the World: The Challenger Disaster" on Sunday, July 7, at 9 p.m. ET. (Encore on Tuesday, July 9, at 9 p.m. ET)
· Two encore episodes of "Deadliest Space Weather" on Monday, July 8, beginning at 9 p.m. ET. (Four encore episodes on Wednesday, July 10, beginning at 9 p.m. ET)
· Space-related episodes of "Secrets of the Earth," including a special episode on gravity beginning Tuesday, July 9, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
· Three space-themed episodes of "Forecasting the End" on Friday, July 12, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

· Join on-camera meteorologist Reynolds Wolf as he visits the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL for a behind-the-scenes look at the USAF Weather Squadron responsible for forecasting launch weather for space shuttle missions.
· Severe space weather could be as devastating to our planet as hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters. The Space Weather Prediction Center provides real-time monitoring and forecasting of solar and geophysical events that impact satellites, power grids, communications, navigation and many other technological systems. On-camera meteorologist Jen Carfagno travels to Boulder, CO for a behind-the-scenes visit.
