Broadway veterans Martin Sheen and Alfred Molina are reportedly set to co-star in "The Way," a new film directed by Sheen's son, actor Emilo Estevez, according to Variety. Rounding out the cast is Deborah Kara Unger, James Nesbitt, Simon Andreu, Eusebio Lazaro, and Carlos Leal.
In "The Way," Sheen plays Tom Avery, a California widower and ophthalmologist who travels to France to reclaim the body of his estranged son who died after getting lost along the Route de Napoleon. After cremating The Remains, he finds himself taking his son's journey along the Camino de Santiago.
Martin Sheen has appeared on Broadway in The Crucible, Death of a Salesman, The Subject Was Roses, and Never Live Over A Pretzle Factory. He is also known for his performances as Captain Willard in the film Apocalypse Now and President Josiah Bartlet on the television series The West Wing. As well as the critical acclaim he has received as an actor, he has become known as an activist.
Alfred Molina first came to public attention in the UK for his joint lead role with Gary Oldman in the 1987 film Prick Up Your Ears. He appeared on Broadway in Fiddler of the Roof and Art. He is also known for his roles in Spider-Man 2, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Species, Not Without My Daughter, Chocolat, Frida, Steamboy, The Hoax, The Da Vinci Code, Little Traitor.
Emilio Estevez is an actor, film director, poet, and writer. He started his career as an actor and is famous for being a member of the acting Brat Pack of the 1980s, appearing in The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire. He is also known for The Mighty Ducks, Maximum Overdrive, and his performances in western films such as Young Guns and its sequel. One of his first appearances was "Two-Bit" in The Outsiders.
