BBC News reports that Mick Hucknall and The Stereophonics are among artists who will attempt to re-record The Beatles' debut album 'Please Please Me' at Abbey Road Studios on the 50th anniversary of the record's release.
According to the report, the musicians will have just 12 hours to complete the work, the same amount of time it took the group to record during their marathon single recording session of the album. They will employ the same studio, with all the tracks recorded in order.The event, which takes place on February 11, will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2. It will also be filmed for a BBC Four special called 12 Hours to Please Me, which will be aired on February 15.Stuart Maconie and Jo Whiley will host the event and will be joined by guests from the original session 50 years ago, including engineer Richard Langham and Beatles press officer Tony Barrow.Videos
