The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture (18 Bleecker Street) presents The Sixth Annual Justice Film Festival (www.sheencenter.org/shows/justice2018/), which will take place later this year fromNovember 2-4, 2018. Short and feature submissions are now being accepted via FilmFreeway, with official selections announced and tickets going on sale on June 15th.
The Justice Film Festival inspires justice seekers by presenting films of UNEXPECTED courage and redemption that are diverse in their issues and geography. After stops in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Chicago, The Justice Film Festival will include feature films and short films from both well-known and emerging filmmakers that shine a light on social justice.
"The films we celebrate at the Justice Film Festival are visual works of art that transcend mere entertainment, yet somehow are tremendously entertaining." said Andy Peterson, Director of theJustice Film Festival. "We know this year's festival will be our best yet, as these gifted filmmakers share timely stories that provide a deeper exploration into the 'headlines' and help shape the conversations we'll be having in the year to come. It is gratifying to watch audiences year after year react to stories that may include violence and heartbreak, but end with hope and redemption - the human spirit overcoming great odds."
"We are pleased to host the Justice Film Festival again this year," said David DiCerto, Director of Program Administration for The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. "Over the past few years, we have showcased a broad array of impactful films that have touched on gun violence, mental health, poverty, religious persecution, refugees, and environmental care, to name a few. We look forward to presenting another stellar line-up of films this fall."
This will be the third year the Justice Film Festival will take place at The Sheen Center. For more info about the festival and submissions, please visit www.justicefilmfest.com.
