The Metropolitan Museum of Art Announces Valentine's Day Exhibitions

In addition to looking at romantically themed works of art in the Museum's galleries-including 19th-century views of the "City of Love" in the exhibition Charles Marville: Photographer of Paris-here are some suggested Valentine's Day activities for visitors to the Met this weekend:
Evening Events on February 14
Meet Your Match, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Visitors are invited to take a short quiz in the Great Hall to discover their perfect artwork match in the Met's collection and then share the match on Instagram. Participants will be invited to stay for drinks in the Great Hall Balcony Bar to celebrate the new connection. (Cash bar; last call is at 8:00 p.m.)
Pillow Talk: Beds and Bedrooms, 6:30-7:30 p.m. A Museum guide will lead a tour of bedrooms at the Met and share the stories behind these intimate spaces. Note: Limited to 30 people; tickets are distributed 15 minutes prior to the tour at the program meeting point; free with Museum admission. Pose and Gesture: South Asian Art, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Draw inspiration from original works of art. Join talented art instructors in the galleries for informal sketching fun. Materials are provided, but you may bring your own sketchbook; pencils only. Instruction provided every thirty minutes. Come and go as you like between each session. Open to visitors of all ages. Free with Museum admission. ETHEL and Friends, 5:00-8:00 p.m.

ETHEL and Friends is a music series specifically designed for the Museum's Balcony Bar.February 14's program includes music by Welcher, Ives, Bolcom, Paterson, Mellits, Schoenfeld, and more from the American Modern Ensemble.

Museum Highlights, 6:30-7:30 p.m.Discover the Museum's encyclopedic collection on this tour, which focuses on a selection of works of art representing different cultures and time periods and encourages visitors to explore the Museum on their own. Free with Museum admission.

Evening Concert on February 15
A Valentine from Jane Monheit, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Grace Rainey Rogers AuditoriumBeloved Grammy-nominated vocalist Jane Monheit performs a special program in celebration of Valentine's Day. Tickets to this event include Museum admission. Orchestra seats for $60 are still available.
