As ABC's hit show "Roseanne" gears up to return to television this spring, the entire cast reveals behind-the-scenes moments, memories and what to expect from the revival of one of TV's most iconic sitcoms in a special edition of "20/20." Returning actors Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman and Sarah Chalke discuss the show's legacy and share what life was like starring on the No. 1 show. "Roseanne: The Return" airs on a special edition of "20/20," hosted by "The View" co-host Joy Behar, on Saturday, March 17 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. (Rebroadcast. ABC OAD: 2/15/18)
The special interviews "Roseanne" executive producers Whitney Cummings and Bruce Helford; actress Patricia Heaton, star of "The Middle," known as the modern day "Roseanne"; and "The Middle" creators and executive producers, Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline, who began their careers as writers for "Roseanne." The hour also highlights the guest stars who were on the show before they became famous including George Clooney, Ellen DeGeneres and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Peabody and Emmy® Award-winning "Roseanne" premiered in 1988 and took the sitcom world by storm for nine seasons. The revolutionary No. 1 ranked show revolved around the working-class Conner family and made history by constantly combatting the classic family sitcom stereotype by addressing troubling, controversial issues that didn't always have a neat solution at the end of the episode. ABC's revival season will premiere on March 27, 2018, and feature the original cast.
"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir. David Sloan is senior executive producer.
