On Wednesday, July 4, the "CBS Buzz Tour" will officially burst onto the scene from Boston during CBS's live broadcast of the "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular." The CBS star-branded and mobile studio-equipped "CBS Buzz Tour" bus will bring network ambassadors, activities and giveaways to 60 markets in 60 days as a thank-you to the millions of loyal fans who continue to make CBS America's Most-Watched Network. CBS reality star veterans Alex Boylan ("The Amazing Race") and Burton Roberts ("Survivor: Pearl Islands") will spearhead the on-the-road fan activities and will also engage viewers from anywhere in the U.S. throughout the tour with "Inside Buzz" CBS.com webisodes, blogs and social media contests and posts.
Covering 15,000 miles through Aug. 31, the "CBS Buzz Tour" (#cbsbuzz) will go straight to the fans, providing CBS experiences unique to each market. Alex Boylan and Burton Roberts will lead an array of in-person fan activities, including face-to-face encounters and video chats with new and returning CBS personalities, sneak peeks and screenings of CBS's buzzed-about new fall series, as well as contests, giveaways and the opportunity to be digitally inserted into cast photos of several CBS series, which can be shared on social media sites. Among the contests are social challenges that will encourage local fans to interact with the Buzz Tour bus on its route across the U.S. through photo submissions, trivia contests and more. Additionally, several "CBS Buzz Tour" collaborations with local CBS stations will include community service projects.
Fans can also follow the fun from anywhere, thanks to companion on-the-road "Inside Buzz" webisodes, social media posts and contests produced by Boylan and Roberts. The "CBS Buzz Tour"-related schedules and content – including an interactive map with video and slide shows of each stop and links to corresponding social accounts – will be accessible via www.cbs.com/buzz.
"It is extremely exciting to be part of this ultimate road trip," said Burton Roberts. "Not only will we be delivering content from the road – using all aspects of technology and social media – but we will also be face-to-face with countless CBS fans across the country."
"It will be awesome to be on the front lines getting to interact with and say thanks to Americans all across this great country," said Alex Boylan. "The fact that CBS is making the effort to give back to its fans shows the passion and loyalty it has for them. I'm extremely proud to be part of this effort."
Some pre-launch "CBS Buzz Tour" stops in the Boston area in association with CBS's Boston station (WBZ) include a day at the CBS Scene restaurant at Patriot Place on Saturday, June 30, coinciding with a New England Revolution game and live concerts that evening.
