The Artistic Pursuit Series Now Available on Vimeo on Demand

The Artistic Pursuit Series, a new educational video series with a mission to prepare creatives for the professional world, is now available on Vimeo On Demand!

The first season of The Artistic Pursuit Series outlines practical skills for actors. "There is often a disconnect between arts degrees and the competitive world. With this series, we aim to fill the gaps," says creator Caralie Chrisco. "Our episodes don't teach you how to act, but we teach you everything else. We speak to so many people on our podcast who say 'my college wasn't great at teaching the business side of things' so we know that this is an area that needs attention."

The series features a company of New York based actors and is a throwback to 80's instructional videos. The first three episodes focus on Equity principal auditions, Equity chorus calls, audition etiquette, and headshots. Future episodes will cover understanding agents and managers, the unions, resumes, pilot season, and finances. Episodes average 5 minutes and are released on a monthly basis. The first three episodes are currently available for purchase for $1.99 each.

"In future seasons were going to focus on different creative fields such as playwriting, directing, and designing." Says co creator Daniel LeBlanc. "The greatest thing to hear is 'I can't believe something like this doesn't already exist!' We are thrilled to be the ones to bring this invaluable resource to the artistic community in the greater New York City area."

The Artistic Pursuit is the creation of Caralie Chrisco (Davis Spylios Management) and Daniel LeBlanc (Huniford Design Studios). The website provides a service provider database including headshot photographers, acting studios and instructors, festivals, internships, and theater companies. The Artistic Pursuit Podcast interviews entertainment professionals at various stages in their careers. Since the first episode aired in December of 2015, they've spoken to over 70 creatives and innovators.

As a company, The Artistic Pursuit LLC was chosen to be a member of the NYU StartED Tech Incubator which takes inspiring startups with potential and helps them grow into successful businesses.
