Tenor Anthony Kearns will make a much-anticipated second appearance as a solo artist on the Fox News Network's popular show 'Huckabee' this Sat., March 12, at 8 p.m. ET and again on Sun., March 13, at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET.
Mr. Kearns, a founding member of the sensational singing group, The Irish Tenors, made millions of new fans during his debut performance on "Huckabee" last year through his delivery of "The Lord's Prayer" and "Danny Boy."
Former Gov. Arkansas Mike Huckabee, host of the highly-acclaimed weekend show, welcomed Kearns' return: "I'm pleased to welcome Anthony back for a special performance in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day and to update me on his latest projects," he said.
"It's an honor to return as the Governor's guest and to perform once again for his national audience," said Kearns, who shares the governor's deep passion for music and its power to bridge cultures across the globe.
Mr. Kearns has been thrilling audiences and making headlines since he first arrived on the American scene as the anchor tenor - and youngest member - of The Irish Tenors. Kearns and The Irish Tenors kicked off the St. Patrick's Day season in Naples, FL on March 4. He returns to Naples, FL on March 14 and will continue to tour through April 3.
"Anthony Kearns' appearance on 'Huckabee' will showcase his ability to move us with his breathtaking talent," said Kearns' publicist, Kirsten Fedewa. The interview with Gov. Huckabee will include highlights of Kearns' meteoric career, and focus on his recent projects, including his new PBS special called "Hallelujah Broadway," and concert engagements to benefit charitable causes across the country, she said. Kearns is accompanied by Bill Lewis for this performance.
Kearns recently teamed up with Gov. Bob McDonnell (VA) to headline a charity concert to give five college scholarships to military spouses and children through ThanksUSA. This event received tremendous media attention including coverage on "Fox and Friends" and "The Redskins Report." Kearns also performed at a peace awards ceremony for Prime Minister Tony Blair hosted by President Bill Clinton last fall; he sang at a choral tribute to the military at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts last May, and at benefit for the USO/ ThanksUSA at the Embassy of New Zealand in December, among other solo engagements.
"All of the Governor's fans know that he's a leader in appreciating all forms of music, from bluegrass to opera. Anthony Kearns' second appearance with the Governor is a tribute to the Governor's abiding love of music. I urge everyone to tune in for what will be an inspiring moment, said Ms. Fedewa.
Of last year's performance, Gov. Huckabee said: "Anthony Kearns generated among the best feedback that I've seen about one of our musical guests on the show - it was absolutely fantastic."
Mr. Kearns will headline a major appearance in the governor's home state of Arkansas on March 29, 2011. Other concerts are scheduled for Scranton, PA (March 17), Patchogue, NY (March 18), Drexel Hill, PA (March 19), Brooklyn, NY (March 20), Savannah, GA (March 22), Derry, NH (March 24), Winterhaven, FL (March 26), and Holbrook, IA (April 3).
