Gabriel Coronel, Kimberly Dos Ramos, Sissi Fleitas, Judith Grace, Fabián Ríos, Don Pedro Rivera, Maripily Rivera, Henry Santos, Fernando Vargas and Gabriela Vergara are ready to kick-off the new season of the culinary competition, "Top Chef Estrellas," this Sunday, January 11th at 9pm/8c on Telemundo. These prominent celebrities from the world of entertainment, music and sports, will cook their favorite dishes under the guidance of chefs Lorena Garcia, Jaime Martin Del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu, who will serve as judges for the Sunday night reality. Hosted by renowned TV personality, Ingrid Hoffmann, viewers will be able to see their favorite celebrities in a more intimate and personal way as they embark on this adventure where they will compete for a total sum of $100,000 awarded to charities of their choice, but only one will be named "Top Chef."
Shot in Boston, Massachusetts and produced by Emmy award-winning production house Magical Elves, the second season of "Top Chef Estrellas" is hosted by TV personality and restaurateur Ingrid Hoffmann, who has hosted multiple cooking shows, including "Simply Delicioso" on the Food Network and "Delicioso" on Galavision. She is also the author of several cookbooks including "Latin D'Lite" and "Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist".
Returning to "Top Chef Estrellas," TV host and bestselling author, Chef Lorena Garcia, is one of the most outstanding culinary professionals in the United States, having competed in the fourth season of Bravo's "Top Chef Masters." Joining her are Chefs Jaime Martin Del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu, who have been nominated for the prestigious James Beard award and have appeared in numerous television programs. They own the award-winning restaurant "La Casita Mexicana" in Los Angeles, and will soon open a new restaurant named "Mexicano!"
During this season of "Top Chef Estrellas," contestants will face two types of challenges: the dynamic individual "Quickfires," whose winner will raise $2,500 for his/her charity, and the dramatic team "Elimination Challenge," in which the best chef of the winning team will garner $5,000 for their organization, and the contestant with the lowest score will be eliminated from the competition and become Sous Chef.
Following "Top Chef Estrellas", Telemundo will air "Suelta la Sopa Extra" (10:30pm/9:30c), the after-show that reviews each episode of the Sunday night reality together with cast members and special guests. The program will showcase exclusive videos and a preview of the upcoming episodes of the culinary competition.
