Sunday night's premiere of Telemundo's MASTERCHEF LATINO ranked as the #1 Spanish-language program in primetime among all adults 18-34, according to Nielsen. The culinary competition in search of the nation's best amateur/non-professional cook, delivered 1,050,000 total viewers, 476,000 adults 18-49 and 222,000 adults 18-34. Fueled by the show's performance, Telemundo outperformed Univision among adults 18-49 during the 8pm-10pm daypart (476,000 vs. 456,000). "MasterChef Latino" also ranked as the #1 most social show in primetime among Hispanic networks on premiere night.
Locally, the premiere episode of "MasterChef Latino" helped
Telemundo rank #1, regardless of language, in Los Angeles among adults 18-49. It also ranked as the #1 Spanish-language network during 8p-10p among total viewers and adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Atlanta, and among total viewers in Miami and Washington.
"MasterChef Latino" is a culinary competition produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog, creators of MasterChef, the prestigious international brand that has become the number one cooking competition in the world that now comes for the first time to U.S. Hispanic television on Telemundo. This Spanish-language version brings the culture, the food, the flavors and the seasonings of Latin American countries with a diverse representation of participants who love cooking and who can create anything, from delicious Texan enchiladas and California fish tacos, to Puerto Rican mofongo, among others, but only one will be crowned the winner of "MasterChef Latino" crown and a grand cash prize of $100,000 dollars.
