Telemundo announced a landmark development and production deal with the Jenni Rivera estate to produce a number of series and specials inspired by superstar music artist Jenni Rivera. The exclusive agreement with Jenni Rivera Enterprises includes an authorized bio-musical television series based on her life story, multiple tribute concerts starting in 2017, and a series of "Jenni Vive" annual specials associated with Jenni's Love Foundation.
The late Regional Mexican singer had a long-standing relationship with Telemundo including appearances on multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards, and the Billboard Regional Mexican Music Awards. In addition, Jenni Rivera was the lead star and Executive Producer of the groundbreaking celeb-reality series "I Love Jenni," which aired for three seasons on sister-cable network mun2, now known as NBC UNIVERSO. Jenni Rivera Enterprises ("JRE") was founded by La Gran Señora herself, multi-double platinum recording artist Jenni Rivera. Today, JRE is closely managed by Jenni's children and Rosie Rivera Flores and Juan Rivera, Jenni's sister and brother, respectively, who are dedicated to preserving Jenni Rivera' rich legacy. JRE is the only entity that owns and controls the iconic Mexican-American star's LIFE STORY rights. JRE also manages the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation, a non-profit organization that was particularly important to Jenni for its support of abused and battered women.Jenni Rivera was a Mexican-American singer, songwriter, actress, television producer, and entrepreneur famous for her work within the Regional Mexican music genre. Rivera began recording music in 1993 and has sold more than 20 million records worldwide. Her recordings often had themes of social issues, infidelity, and relationships. In 2010, she appeared in and produced the reality TV show Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C. She also appeared in and produced I Love Jenni starting in 2011 through 2013 and Chiquis 'n Control in 2012.
Rivera garnered nominations and awards from Latin music's most prestigious accolades. Over the course of her career she was awarded 22 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 11 Billboard Mexican Music Awards and two Billboard Music Awards. She has a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.
