The Telemundo documentary "Muriendo por Cruzar" earned a News and Documentary Emmy® Award in the category of Outstanding Investigative Journalism in Spanish. "Muriendo por Cruzar," a documentary about the dramatic increase in deaths among immigrants trying to cross the border near Falfurrias, Texas, is a co-production by Telemundo and the Weather Channel. Presented by Noticias Telemundo reporters Carmen Dominicci and Neida Sandoval, "Muriendo por Cruzar," describes the extreme weather conditions in the border, investigates reports of mass graves and shares the testimony of the forensic anthropologists charged with identifying the remains of those who perish in their quest.
Earlier this year "Muriendo por Cruzar" won a prestigious George Polk Award in the category of Television Reporting.
