Brazil is the only Latin American team remaining in the U-20 World Cup and on Tues., June 16 it will face Senegal at 11:30PM/10:30C/8:30P, live on NBC UNIVERSO. Brazil knocked out Portugal in the Round of 16 in a neck-to-neck race that had to be decided on penalty kicks after neither team managed to score during the regulation 90-minutes and two additional 15-minute periods of play. Senegal beat Uzbekistan by one point, eliminating the Central Asian team with no need for extra time. The other game from down under to watch this week is Serbia vs. the tournament's biggest surprise, Mali, Wed., June 17 at 3AM/2AMC/12P (early Wednesday morning) on TELEMUNDO. Both teams advanced to the semifinals thanks to victories clinched in the penalty phase. Serbia eliminated the United States 6-5 by sudden death in a nail-biting finale, while Mali stunned the world with its 4-3 win over powerhouse Germany.
