Telemundo, the NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group and Big Tent Entertainment, in association with The Richline Group, Inc. and designer Udi Behr, are introducing Telemundojewelry.com, which launches today. The new Website offers fans a chance to purchase the beautiful jewelry pieces worn by the actors in Telemundo's programming. The first collections to be offered are those featured in the network's popular telenovelas "El Clon" ("The Clone") and "Donde Esta Elisa?" ("Where is Elisa?"). The new lines include a selection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings that are made with a variety of materials and stones. A full product launch for the Telemundo-inspired lines is planned for this fall in retail outlets nationwide.
Designer Udi Behr has chosen the first collections using the rich storylines and colorful characters as his inspiration. Featuring seven pieces each, the two collections incorporate a variety of metals, textures and vivid hues. The pieces featured in "Donde Esta Elisa" include a chunky simulated pearl stretch bracelet with solid brass, gold-plated stretch band, a matching cocktail ring and lightweight drop earrings. The line for "El Clon" features a genuine natural turquoise stone cuff with solid brass plating; a chunky simulated turquoise and gold bead necklace with aqua colored Austrian crystal stones and a pair of matching turquoise and gold lightweight bead earrings.
Behr will also create original lines for Telemundo's upcoming programming, including the network's established brand "Club de Noveleras," as well as the highly anticipated telenovela, "La Reina del Sur," which launches later this year.
"As a jewelry designer, working with Richline and Telemundo is an honor for me," said Behr. "I have always admired the history, art, culture, and lifestyle of the Hispanic community and now to have the chance to work alongside Telemundo and all the talent that is under their umbrella is a dream come true for me. I am committed to creating a beautiful collection that represents the Telemundo brand and enhances their programming and I look forward to making our collections accessible to their worldwide fan base."
"We are really pleased to be able to introduce these beautiful jewelry lines inspired by Telemundo's programming," said Kim Niemi, Senior Vice President, NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group. "We know the Telemundo fans will love these exquisite and affordable pieces that reflect the passion of their favorite telenovelas and we look forward to introducing more jewelry lines for Telemundo's programming in the coming years."
Dennis Ulrich, CEO of The Richline Group added, "Our new partnership with Telemundo allows us the opportunity to reach this important, targeted demographic of consumers with a unique line of jewelry that reflects the culture of the Hispanic community. We are confident that Telemundo viewers will love the variety and designs that we've created featuring their favorite shows and brand."
The introduction of the various jewelry lines through Telemundo's on air programming is part of a larger effort, including the introduction of home furnishings, which launches Telemundo's consumer products licensing program and establishes the network as a lifestyle brand. Big Tent Entertainment, the licensing agent for the Telemundo brand, brokered the deal with The Richline Group, Inc. on behalf of the NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group.
El Clon tells the story of "Jade" (Sandra Echeverria) and "Lucas," (Mauricio Ochmann), two star-crossed lovers whose story of forbidden love transcends the obstacles of time, science and also cultural differences. Deeply in love, the two are forced to be apart because of opposing family obligations, yet their devotion to one another over many years and many miles remains unwavering. "Donde Esta Elisa?" is centered on the disappearance of a beautiful 17-year old girl, "Elisa Altamira," who leads a quiet and happy family life. After a family gathering to celebrate the birthday of her father "Mariano Altamira" (Gabriel Porras), Elisa goes out with her cousins and disappears without a trace. The family begins an exhaustive search, lead by agent "Cristobal Rivas" (Jorge Luis Pila). During the process, agent Rivas develops a strong tie with the family, providing unconditional support for Elisa's mother "Dana Riggs Altamira" (Sonya Smith). As the search continues, old secrets involving family, friends, colleagues and ex-employees of the Altamira business are revealed.
