Telemundo Introduces New Sunday Primetime Franchise SERIES PREMIUM™ Image

Following the success of its ground-breaking daily Super Series™ genre, which has dominated Spanish-language television weekdays at 10pm for over three years, Telemundo launched a new Sunday primetime franchise titled "Series Premium™," featuring high-end premium content as never seen before in Spanish-language television. The new genre, which kicked off last night with the premiere of the highly-anticipated "Luis Miguel, La Serie" will offer high-end productions, in a shorter weekly format of 10 to 15 episodes, featuring star-studded casts and powerful contemporary storytelling based on bold bigger-than-life characters. "Series Premium" represents the latest innovation the network has brought to Spanish language television, as it evolves its content to meet the dynamic media consumption habits of Latinos in the US across all platforms.

Leveraging the successful track record of Telemundo Global Studios in producing high-quality long format scripted programming, and working together with prestigious production partners, Telemundo's "Series Premium" production pipeline includes the heart-stopping thriller "El Recluso," bio-series "Nicky Jam: El Ganador," crime series "Falco," and "El Secreto de Selena," among others.

"We are proud to continue redefining Hispanic media with yet another innovative franchise that fulfills the content needs of Latinos today," said Luis Silberwasser, President of Telemundo Networks. "We recognize the viewing habits of the Hispanic audience are constantly evolving and are excited to offer a new genre of programming with incredible stories, world class production values, and A-list talent that will become appointment viewing on Sunday primetime."

"Luis Miguel, La Serie"

The only official autobiographical series authorized by Luis Miguel himself, "Luis Miguel, La Serie" stars Mexico's next big Hollywood star, actor Diego Boneta. Each of the 13 exciting, emotion-filled episodes reveal the life of the famous Mexican singer as his fans never knew it.

"El Recluso"

Telemundo International Studios' first production, "El Recluso" (The Inmate), tells the riveting story of Lázaro Mendoza, a former marine who enters a maximum-security prison on the U.S.-Mexico border to investigate the abduction of the daughter of a prominent U.S. judge. The 13-episode series stars Argentine actor Ignacio Serricchio (Lazaro Mendoza) and Mexican actress Ana Claudia Talancón (Frida) featuring locations in Mexico City and the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Nicky Jam: El Ganador"

The 13-episode scripted drama stars the Reggaeton sensation himself, Nicky Jam. The original series, which follows the highs and lows experienced by one of the most prolific artists in the genre, premieres exclusively on Telemundo this summer.

"Falco"

A police series about a young homicide detective who wakes up 20 years later after being shot and left in a coma. The world around him has changed. Falco has not lost his detective techniques and will have to learn to work with his new partner. Both Falco and his team will struggle to adjust to each other as he tries to perform his job while trying to figure out what happened that night, twenty years ago.

"El Secreto de Selena"

Based on the bestselling book by Emmy Award-winning journalist María Celeste Arrarás, "El Secreto de Selena" (Selena's Secret), tells the revealing story behind the tragic death of beloved Mexican-American singer Selena Quintanilla. There is no DOUBT that Yolanda Saldívar pulled the trigger on the superstar, but does anyone know what really happened moments before the crime took place? "El Secreto de Selena" pulls together the pieces of this puzzle and depicts what really happened on that rainy day in March of 1995.
