Telemundo announced today it is on pace to deliver a solid performance among adults 18-49 during Monday-Friday primetime, averaging 757,000 viewers, a nine percent increase from last season (697,000), and 332,000 adults 18-34, up five percent versus last season (317,000). Based on these results, Telemundo is ranking as the fastest growing Spanish-language broadcast network in absolute numbers among both key demos in Monday-Friday primetime. Its Monday-Friday programming at 10pm is set to deliver the network's highest- rated season ever in that day part, with 1.19 million adults 18-49. Since the season three premiere of "El Señor de los Cielos" on April 21, Telemundo ranks as the number one network in the 10pm time slot, regardless of language, among adults 18-34 on Monday-Friday with 712,000 viewers.
This season will mark TELEMUNDO's smallest gap ever with Univision in Monday-Friday primetime programming, with a 500,000 difference among adults 18-49 and a 244,000 difference among adults 18-34. In addition, Telemundo is set to garner a record-setting 33% share among adults 18-49 with Monday-Friday primetime this season, marking the fifth consecutive season of share growth and highest in network history.
TELEMUNDO's ratings success this season is boosted by record-setting broadcasts of tent pole award shows and novela finales. The 2015 "Billboard Latin Music Awards" ranked as the highest-rated broadcast of the show in network history, delivering an average of 1.46 million adults 18-49; meanwhile, "Premios Tu Mundo" delivered its best-ever performance, averaging 1.16 million adults 18-49. Additionally, "Tierra de Reyes" ranked as the network's second-highest rated 9pm novela finale with 1.26 million adults 18-49. And "Bajo el Mismo Cielo" launched as TELEMUNDO's most successful 9pm novela in three years.
The network's news properties "Noticiero Telemundo" and "Un Nuevo Dia" are on track to deliver their best season yet among adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Noticiero Telemundo" is the fastest growing broadcast evening news program in adults 18-49 and total viewers, regardless of language this season, averaging 373,000 adults 18-49 and 932,000 total viewers, pacing +10% and +11%, respectively, versus last season. "Un Nuevo Dia" is the fastest growing broadcast morning news and information program in adults 18-49 and total viewers, regardless of language this season, averaging 138,000 adults 18-49, a 42% growth versus last season, and over 300,000 total viewers, a 43% growth versus last season. Additionally, "Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste," at 4pm, is on track to deliver its second best season ever, averaging 458,000 adults 18-49 and 1.11 million total viewers.
On the sports front, this season, Telemundo delivered the record-setting broadcast of the USA vs. Japan final which ranked as the most watched Women's World Cup final in history on Spanish-language television. In addition, the broadcast of the Men's under 20 World Cup tournament on Telemundo and NBC UNIVERSO reached 7.3 million total viewers. "Boxeo Telemundo Ford" is on pace to be the most watched boxing program this season on Spanish television, with 433,000 total viewers, while the airing of the WBO Latin Super Welterweight title fight ranks as the highest-rated boxing telecast of the season, with 603,000 total viewers. Finally, TELEMUNDO's late night sports show "Titulares y Mas" is on track to deliver its highest-rated season ever, averaging 258,000 adults 18-49 and 461,000 total viewers, pacing at a growth of 29% and 32% respectively.
