Telemundo Deportes, the Spanish-language home of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, unveiled an original mural in celebration of the Final Draw in the heart of Miami's iconic Wynwood Art District located at 2294 NW 2ndAve. The artwork was created by renowned Miami-based muralist and sculptor David Le Batard, better known as "Lebo," to create a unique representation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™. The mural depicts all 32 countries competing in the FIFA World Cup Russia™ with a special focus on the Latin American countries participating in the tournament.

The mural was unveiled today, Friday, Dec. 1, during the live broadcast of the much-anticipated Draw that defined the groups for FIFA World Cup™, and will be on display through Art Basel, annual international art fair taking place in Miami, and the Wynwood NYE Block Party.

"The Final Draw determines the fate and fortune of the competing nations in the biggest sporting event in the world," said Bill Bergofin, Senior Vice President of Brand and Content, Telemundo Deportes. "The results of the Draw will be the topic of conversation, and we are excited to engage with our audience in a fun way - on-air, online and on the streets."

Telemundo Deportes showcased the creation of the mural and the final artwork both on air and across online platforms as each Latin American country was drawn, generating excitement around the teams and their star players. Viewers can follow the Draw and be part of the unveiling of Lebo's artwork on air, Facebook and Instagram @TelemundoDeportes.

Also, the network will produce limited edition T-shirts featuring the artwork. Proceeds will go to Alianza-U, a program that helps student-athletes obtain sports scholarships at universities around the country under by Alianza de Futbol, a leading foundation in the U.S. dedicated to the support and development of Hispanic amateur soccer.

Lebo is recognized for working on a wide spectrum of creative mediums including murals, paintings, and sculptures. His visual storytelling methods pull from classic American cartooning and fine art, indigenous art as well as Egyptian hieroglyphics to create a unique visual language.

"Partnering with Telemundo Deportes to create this mural for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ is an honor for a few reasons - first, it's amazing to work on a project that has so much global significance and secondarily, it's very fulfilling to create the mural in Miami, which is the city that shaped me the most as an artist," said Lebo.

Telemundo Deportes, one of the leading providers of sports content in Spanish in the United States, is home to two of the world's most popular sporting events: the FIFA World Cup™ through 2026 and the Summer Olympic Games through 2032. It is also home of the FIFA Club World Cup until at least 2018. Telemundo Deportes also broadcasts the FIFA World Cup™ CONCACAF qualifying matches for most of the region, including Mexico and USA national teams' away matches, and the Premier League. Telemundo Deportes is also home to "Boxeo Telemundo Ford," the #1 boxing program in Spanish, and "Titulares y Más," the #1 sports news, entertainment and commentary show in Spanish, among other recognized sports properties.
