Telemundo, the exclusive Spanish-language home of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, today announced that Coca-Cola, Sprint and Volkswagen will each have important roles during the network's coverage of the FIFA World Cup. Match halftimes and post-games will be presented exclusively by Sprint and Coca-Cola, respectively, and Volkswagen will present network's primetime show. The announcement was made by Laura Molen, Executive Vice President, Lifestyle and Hispanic Advertising Sales, NBCUniversal.
"Telemundo's coverage of the World Cup is going to captivate audiences of all ages and be a destination for valuable consumers as they cheer on their teams in the tournament," said Molen. "We're excited to work with such venerable brands as Coca-Cola, Sprint and Volkswagen who value the Telemundo consumer and deliver audiences an engaging viewing experience."
As an official FIFA partner, Coca-Cola will be the presenting sponsor of the Telemundo Deportes Post-Game, "El Resumen del Partido," for all 64 World Cup matches as well as in-game match clocks. Powerade, also a part of the The Coca-Cola Company family of brands, will have brand exposure during the tournament window with socially-led activations.
Sprint will work with Telemundo Deportes as official Halftime sponsor of all 64 matches. Additionally, Sprint will offer their customers an exclusive portal in the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app that will be home to various content all in one place, inclusive of FIFA content.
Volkswagen will bring audiences the best action, highlights and commentary from the tournament as presenting sponsor of the network's primetime show exclusively dedicated to the FIFA World Cup, airing nightly from 7-8 p.m. ET. Additionally, Volkswagen will have brand presence within each of the 64 matches as well as within Telemundo Deportes livestream coverage. All Volkswagen content will feature the new Jetta,Tiguan and Atlas models.
Telemundo Deportes will air all 64 matches of the World Cup, including 56 games on Telemundo and eight on Universo. Overall, Telemundo Deportes will provide more than 500 hours of World Cup-related programming throughout the tournament, including 250+ live hours of game coverage including pre and post shows on each matchday and more than 170 hours of programming on Universo.
Telemundo Deportes' digital platforms will provide more than 1,000 hours of content including a live stream of all Telemundo Deportes' programming, exclusive short- and long-form content, highlights and more. All 64 matches, in addition to the pre/post programming, will stream live via the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app and TelemundoDeportes.com available on desktops, tablets, and connected TV's.
