Telemundo Deportes revealed its team of presenters, announcers and commentators for the Rio 2016 Olympics today, featuring more than 25 well-known figures in sports journalism who will cover the games for TELEMUNDO, NBC UNIVERSO and Telemundo Deportes digital properties. The distinguished group will include acclaimed sportscasters such as Andrés Cantor together with a team of television presenters, current and former athletes, top sports journalists, and the entire team of experts at Telemundo Deportes.
The opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympics will be on Friday, August 5. However, Women's soccer will begin tomorrow Wednesday, August 3 and men's soccer on Thursday, August 4. On-air and digital coverage of the sporting events will be produced at the
Telemundo Deportes studios in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. For a full schedule click

The
Telemundo Deportes coverage team will include:
Andrés Cantor: In his fourth Olympics for Telemundo, the two-time Emmy winner will lend his knowledge, experience and signature "Goooal" call to the network's soccer coverage. In the last Summer Olympics, London 2012, Cantor narrated Mexico's victory in the men's soccer final.
Sammy Sadovnik: Making his fourth appearance at the Olympics. A key member of the
Telemundo Deportes team, Sammy is a familiar face from "Fútbol Estelar: La Liga Premier," "Fútbol Estelar: Liga MX" and the World Cup qualifying matches on "Rumbo al Mundial" and has covered FIFA women's, U-20 and U-17 tournaments since 2015.
Carlos Hermosillo: A
Telemundo Deportes commentator for "Rumbo al Mundial," "Fútbol Estelar: Liga MX" and "Fútbol Estelar: Liga Premier," Hermosillo is a Mexican soccer legend who has gone on to a successful career in television sports. This will be the first time he covers the Olympics for
Telemundo Deportes.
Miguel Gurwitz: Well-known to Mexican audiences thanks to more than 15 years of reporting on the national soccer team and the Olympics since 2004, Gurwitz is also joining the
Telemundo Deportes Olympic coverage team for the first time.
Copán Álvarez: Since joining
Telemundo Deportes to cover the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015, Álvarez has made a name for himself across media platforms with his unique perspective on
PREMIER LEAGUE SOCCER and the Liga MX. These will be his third Olympics and his first with
Telemundo Deportes.
Manuel Sol: A former star midfielder for Chivas de Guadalajara, Manuel Sol played with Mexico's Olympic soccer team in Atlanta 1996. He is a regular analyst and commentator for "Fútbol Estelar: La Liga Premier" and will be covering the Olympics for the second time for
Telemundo Deportes.
René Giraldo: These will be the fourth Olympics for the "Boxeo
Telemundo Ford" co-host. He will report on boxing and other disciplines from Rio 2016.
Edgar López: A versatile sports reporter and host of "Titulares y Más," López covers NFL for
NBC UNIVERSO and has co-hosted "Boxeo
Telemundo Ford" since 2015. Rio 2016 will be his fourth time reporting from the Olympics.
Ana Jurka: The "Titulares Telemundo" presenter and host of the 2015 FIFA women's, U-20 and U-17 World Cups, Jurka is a key member of the
Telemundo Deportes coverage team and will co-anchor its Olympic broadcasts.
Karim Mendiburu: The host of "Titulares y Más," Mendiburu has covered top sporting events around the world, including the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, the Super Bowl, the WWE, the X-Games, NASCAR, the UFC and NBA. These will be his fourth Olympics.
Jessica Carrillo: A Noticias
Telemundo correspondent for "Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste," Carrillo will offer a unique news angle to the
Telemundo Deportes coverage on her third time out reporting on the world's top sporting event.
Francisco Cuevas: After more than 20 years as a Noticias
Telemundo correspondent, Cuevas began covering sports for the network in 2013, inspired by his experiences as a reporter at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 games.
Leti Coo: A sports reporter for "Titulares Telemundo" and "Titulares y Más," Leti Coo is the former host of sports program "Ritmo Deportivo" and was part of the network team that covered the Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012 games.
Kaziro Aoyama: Since joining the
Telemundo Deportes team in March 2004, Kaziro Aoyama has reported from the field for every Liga MX game, providing commentary, analysis and colorful reports on soccer and more.
Omar Amador: In addition to his role as a reporter on the late-night show "Titulares y Más," Omar Amador is part of the
NBC UNIVERSO Nascar coverage team nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Live Sport Event in Spanish. The versatile Amador appeared in every edition of "Ritmo Deportivo" and was a commentator and presenter at the London 2012 Olympics.
Paula Bukowinski: Has ample experience reporting on and hosting sports programs for networks such as GLOBO TV, Direct TV Latin America,
FOX Deportes,
Telemundo and
NBC UNIVERSO.
Carolina Florez: A Colombian correspondent for "Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste," Florez made a name for herself as a reporter and investigative journalist at Caracol International Network, where she specialized in social issues and human interest stories.
Frederik Oldenburg: The host of the Noticiero
Telemundo Las Vegas sports segment "Domina la Acción" since 2014, Oldenburg was part of the
Telemundo Deportes team that covered the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand and FIFA Women's World Cup Canada in 2015.
Abner Mares: A professional boxer still active in the sport, Mares represented Mexico at the Athens 2004 Olympics and was crowned the WBC's featherweight champion in 2013. He will contribute his inside knowledge of boxing to
Telemundo Deportes' Rio 2016 coverage.
Nicolás Massú: A former professional tennis player from Viña del Mar, Chile, Massú ranked ninth in the ATP at the top of his career and made history for his country by earning two gold medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics. This will be his second time covering the Olympics for
Telemundo Deportes.
Georgina Bardach: A bronze medalist in the 400-meter individual medley in the Athens 2004 Olympics, this Argentine swimmer is also a veteran of the Sidney, Beijing and London games. She will be on the other side of the cameras as part of the
Telemundo Deportes coverage team at Rio 2016.
Jefferson Pérez: Widely considered one of his country's top athletes, Ecuador's Jefferson Pérez will be covering the Olympics for the first time with
Telemundo Deportes. The accomplished race walker is the only Ecuadorian to win an Olympic medal - gold in Atlanta 1996 and silver in Beijing 2008, both in the 20-kilometer competition.
Bibiana Candelas: A current member of Mexico's national volleyball team, Candelas represented her country at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. The winner of numerous medals at the Pan-American Games and other international tournaments, she will be on the sand in Rio to cover the sport for
Telemundo Deportes. Candelas will offer her expert commentary and analysis in volleyball and beach volleyball.
Ramón Rivas: A veteran of
Telemundo Deportes' Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic coverage, this former NBA player represented Puerto Rico at the Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996 games.
Mara Montero: A veteran Mexican journalist, Montero has covered the Olympics since Barcelona 1992. This will be her seventh time reporting from the games and her fourth Olympics with
Telemundo Deportes. Montero specializes in gymnastics, diving and
TRACK AND FIELD events.
Jessica Rosa Andino: A Puerto Rican journalist with more than 21 years of experience in sports reporting, Andino is an expert in volleyball, a discipline she covered for
Telemundo Deportes at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 games.
