Telemundo announced today the appointment of industry veteran Daniela Chaparro Vegas to Vice President of Marketing. In this role, she will spearhead the strategic development and execution of all marketing initiatives for Telemundo, helping to grow the network's brands and ratings. Chaparro Vegas will be based in Miami and report to Aileen Angulo-Merciel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Creative.
Chaparro Vegas will be responsible for maximizing the reach and effectiveness of consumer marketing campaigns with a focus on the creation and establishment of innovative and fresh approaches when speaking to the complex U.S. Hispanic market. Among other responsibilities, she will supervise the network's media buys, manage marketing partnerships and lead nationwide events to optimize reach and continue to build the
Telemundo brand.

"Her strong experience in branding and digital marketing as well as her continuous drive to push the envelope and strategically engage different audiences will be a huge asset to our marketing leadership team."
Previously, Chaparro Vegas served as the Vice President of Marketing and Digital at NBCUniversal International Networks Latin America where she was responsible for all B2B and B2C marketing efforts and digital initiatives of NBCUniversal International's portfolio of channels in Latin America including Universal Channel,
E! Entertainment Television, Studio Universal,
Syfy and
Telemundo Internacional. Prior to that role, she served as Vice President of Marketing and Creative Services at
E! Networks Latin America.
Chaparro Vegas earned her Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Communications at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela and earned her Master's degree in Psychology of Persuasive Communication at Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. She is fluent in English, Spanish, German and Portuguese.
