Massachusetts high school sophomores Douglas Appleman and Eric Sacarny are a teen musical duo whose original song "Make a Beeline" now appears on the soundtrack of Sylvester Stallone's new movie, "Reach Me." With Eric on guitar and Douglas on keys and vocals, their unique sound is reflected in "Make a Beeline," the debut single on the Whole Sounds Music label, produced by Tim Bongiovanni at Northgate Productions. The song's video may be seen atwww.youtube.com/watch?v=3RGr3TFLjug.
Douglas and Eric study popular music at School of Rock, Watertown, Mass., and Douglas receives classical training at Keys for Kids, Lexington, Mass. Douglas attends Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, and Eric is at Minuteman Regional High School. They are active participants in the Boston-area local music scene, and have appeared with their bands Douglas in the band Sadha and Eric in the band On Edge and in School of Rock shows at venues including Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, Mass., The Middle East in Cambridge, Mass., Kickstand Cafe in Arlington, Mass., and The Palladium in Worcester, Mass.
Bringing "Make a Beeline" to the soundtrack of "Reach Me" began last summer, when the Whole Sounds Music team read in Deadline Hollywood that crowdfunding was under way for the movie on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. As fans of Sylvester Stallone and the talented cast, and as admirers of writer/director John Herzfeld's earlier work, Whole Sounds Music saw this as an extraordinary opportunity to participate in a worthwhile and entertaining film.
Comedy-drama "Reach Me," with Danny Aiello, Tom Berenger, Lauren Cohan, Kevin Connolly, Terry Crews, Cary Elwes, Kelsey Grammer, Omari Hardwick, Elizabeth Henstridge, Thomas Jane, Ryan Kwanten, Nelly, David O'Hara, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Sizemore, Sylvester Stallone, and Danny Trejo, opened theatrically in selected cities on November 21 and is now available as video on demand, with DVD release scheduled onDecember 30. "Reach Me," written and directed by John Herzfeld, tells the intersecting stories of people whose lives are changed by a reclusive, inspirational author.
