Deadline.com reports that actor Tate Donovan has joined the cast of the upcoming NBC drama pilot NOTORIOUS from Universal TV and BermanBraun. The project is penned by Liz Heldens.
NOTORIOUS is described as "an opulent soap in which a female detective returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in — as the maid’s daughter — to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend." Donovan will portray Robert Lawson’s (Victor Garber) oldest child, described as "the smart and cold CFO of Lawson Pharmaceuticals."
Donovan appeared on Broadway in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of GOOD PEOPLE opposite Frances McDormand. He made his Off-Broadway debut in the original 1990 production of Richard Greenberg's The American Plan. Other notable theatrical credits include: David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole at the Geffen Playhouse, on Broadway in Amy's View, opposite Judi Dench, and Off-Broadway in Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero.
The actor is known for his TV performances on "Damages," and "The O.C." He will soon be seen on the big screen opposite Ben Affleck in the upcoming film Argo.
