Talk Shows MAURY, 'JERRY SPRINGER' & 'STEVE WILKOS' Sold to Stations Through 2018

NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution hit talk show franchises "Maury," "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" and "The Steve Wilkos Show," have all been sold through September 2018 to station groups including Tribune, Sinclair, Hearst, Weigel and Sunbeam, it was announced today by Ed Swindler, President, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution and NBC Broadcast Operations.

All three talk shows have been extended for an additional two seasons beyond the existing deal which will keep them in national syndication for at least four more seasons through 2018. The shows now have been sold for the additional two seasons (2016-2018) to top stations representing over 65% of the U.S. which include WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles, WGN Chicago and WCIU Chicago, WPHL Philadelphia, WLVI Boston, KDAF Dallas, WPGH Pittsburgh, WTTE Columbus and WKCF Orlando.

"'Maury,' 'The JERRY SPRINGER Show' and 'The Steve Wilkos Show' have been among the highest-rated talk shows in all of daytime television for many years, and that strong performance is clearly continuing in the new season," said Swindler. "We have great station group partners and we are pleased to join with them to bring these successful shows to viewers for the next four years."

"Maury" starting his 17th season in national syndication continues to be a top performer in the daytime syndication marketplace. "Maury" finished the 2013-14 season delivering an average of 3.0 million daily viewers and ranking as the #1 Syndicated talk show among women 18-34 (1.2), women 18-49 (1.3), adults 18-34 (0.9), and adults 18-49 (1.0). "Maury's" 2014-15 season premiere continues with its winning ways ranking as the #1 Syndicated talk show among women 18-34 (1.1), women 18-49 (1.2), adults 18-34 (0.9), adults 18-49 (1.0), and adults 25-54 (1.1) ratings with women 25-54 (1.3) rating equaling Ellen's performance. "Maury" is a consistent performer dominating among young viewers by continuing to be the #1 Syndicated talk show among adults 18-34 ratings for 172 consecutive weeks, among women 18-34 ratings for 40 consecutive weeks, and among adults 18-49 ratings for 28 consecutive weeks.

Having debuted on Sept. 20, 1991, "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" remains hugely popular and has outlasted over 70 talk shows. For the 2013-14 "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" averaged over 1.8 million daily viewers, with "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" attracting a wide audience of both men and women, and drawing in the highest concentration of Men 18-49 and Men 25-54 among all Syndicated talk shows. For the premiere week of the 2014-15 season, "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" delivered his best season premiere in 3 seasons among household ratings and total viewers and his best season premiere in 4 season among women 25-54 ratings including strong year-to-year increases vs. his prior season premiere week among household ratings (+17%: 1.4 vs. 1.2), total viewers (+10%: 1,918,000 vs. 1,738,000), and women 25-54 ratings (+50%, 0.9 vs. 0.6).

The season 8 premiere of the "Steve Wilkos Show" delivered his best premiere week ratings to date. The "Steve Wilkos Show" averaged a 1.6 national household rating, a +23% increase vs. his season 7 premiere week and a +78% increase vs his season 1 premiere. The "Steve Wilkos Show" averaged 2.3 million daily viewers for its season 8 premiere, a +19% increase over the prior season premiere and a +91% increase over the shows' season 1 premiere while also averaging a 1.1 women 25-54 rating, a +22% over his prior season premiere and +83% increase over the season 1 premiere. 'Wilkos' has delivered more growth since the fall of 2007 than any other Syndicated talk show.

"Maury," The JERRY SPRINGER Show" and "The Steve Wilkos Show" are taped in front of live studio audiences at the Stamford Media Center in Stamford, CT. Paul Faulhaber is the executive producer on "Maury." Rachelle Wilkos is the executive producer for both "The JERRY SPRINGER Show" and "The Steve Wilkos Show." All three talk shows are produced by Stamford Media Center and Production LLC and distributed in the U.S. by NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
