To survive on television, one has to be honest and open, daytime talk show host Wendy Williams tells Michelle Miller in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING to be broadcast Sept. 11 (9:00 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network.
"People smell a phony from a million miles away," Williams tells Miller. "Oh, you can fool 'em once. And you can fool 'em for a whole month. But you can't fool 'em for eight years." Williams, whose Syndicated show is broadcast weekdays on stations around the country, is heading into her eighth season on the program. THE DAILY SHOW is heavy on celebrity topics, guest interviews and audience interaction, all delivered with Williams' outsized personality. She dishes about her own life and her past struggles with drugs and addiction, and she's not afraid to call out others, too. Her "hot topics" segments regularly praise and skewer some big-name celebrities. "If you've done something as a celebrity, and there's a story that just falls on my doorstep, yes, I'm picking it up, and I'm bringing it to the studio, and we're going to talk about this," Williams says.Videos
