Taiwan's Highest-Grossing Documentary GO GRANDRIDERS to Screen in Washington DC, 5/29

D.C. Asian Pacific American Film, in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative's Office (TECRO), is proud to present Taiwan's highest-grossing documentary, Go Grandriders, at Landmark's E Street Cinema (555 11th St. NW) on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. This is a FREE screening that you don't want to miss! In addition to seeing this wonderful film, you will have an opportunity to win some fabulous prizes such as the highly-acclaimed Taiwanese tea and pineapple cake!

Go Grandriders, filmed by director Hua Tien-hao, is the story of 17 octogenarians who embarked on a 13-day, 1,178-kilometer journey to fulfill their dream of riding around Taiwan, changing concepts about what it means to grow old. Go Grandriders was nominated for a documentary award at the 17th Busan International Film Festival and was screened at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival in 2012 and the San Francisco CAAM Fest earlier this year to sold out audiences.

"Go Grandriders will take you on a journey through the beautiful scenery that is the island of Taiwan. These feisty octogenarians endure long distances, weather and other hardships to prove you are never too old for a life-altering journey. This heartwarming film will inspire people of all ages," said APA Film Program Director Tad Doyle. "Asian Pacific American Film is excited to be screening this wonderful documentary with TECRO."

Advance tickets are sold out but rush tickets will be available at the door.Arrive early, as seating is not guaranteed for this event. Tickets will be distributed on a first come basis.

The mission of the DC APA Film Festival is to bring attention to the creative output from Asian Pacific American (APA) communities and encourage the artistic development of APA films in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. DC APA Film, a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, has produced an annual film festival based in Washington, D.C. since 2000.
