The Orpheum Theatre's 2015 Summer Movie Series begins with the high-flying 80's hit TOP GUN on Thursday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. In celebration of the series kick off local band The Passport, whose song "Reruns" is featured in the 2015 Summer Movie Series Announcement Reel, will screen an original concert-on-film prior to the showing of TOP GUN.

"We are super excited to be with all of the moviegoers for the TOP GUN showing since it is one of the bands favorite movies," says The Passport's Drummer/Manager Kirk Teachout. "The Orpheum has been on a list of places to share our music, and we are glad that we have the opportunity to have our song, "Reruns," featured for the Summer Movie Series!"

The Passport, a Memphis-based quintet, crafts songs that are meant to be experienced. Pulling influence for their keen writing style from artists such as Young The Giant, Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Two Door Cinema Club and others, the band has an advanced sound and stage presence that is quickly making The Passport a local and regional favorite.

Doors open and pre-show activities begin at 6:00 PM. Before the movie audiences can play a game of chance to discover which classic TOP GUN character they can represent during the film. In addition to this movie-themed festivity, a "selfie-station," and drink specials, The Passport will host a giveaway contest and meet and greet in the Orpheum lobby. Prior to the 7:00 PM screening of TOP GUN, audiences will have an opportunity to experience a pre-show concert film featuring The Passport and songs such as "Reruns," "Running Out," and "Trigger." These songs and more can be found on the band's debut EP Memories, available now on iTunes.

Starring Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer, TOP GUN combines action, romance and an iconic soundtrack to create a can't-miss 80s classic. As students at the Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class, one daring young flyer learns a few things from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom. TOP GUN is rated PG-13 for intense war violence, a scene of sensuality, and pervasive language and drinking.
