"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has delivered its top-rated week since June, to grab the late-night ratings win for the week of Aug. 13-17 over its ABC-CBS timeslot competition in the key demographic of adults 18-49, as well as adults 18-34 and adults 25-54, according to "live plus same day" figures from Nielsen Media Research.
"Tonight's" 0.48 rating in 18-49 and 2.190 million viewers overall are the show's best averages since the week of June 25-29 (0.48 in 18-49, 2.285 million viewers).
"Tonight" won the 11:35 p.m. hour for the week over "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" by a +20% margin in adults 18-49 (with a 0.48 rating vs. a 0.40) and versus "Jimmy Kimmel Live" by +41% (0.48 vs. 0.34). Note that "Late Show" and "Kimmel" aired Friday encores and "Late Show" excluded that night from its averages.
Last week at 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" delivered an average of 1.177 million viewers, making this its most-watched week since July 16-20 (1.216 million).
