As the events of the Boston Marathon and the explosion in West Texas unfolded, more key viewers turn to NBC's TODAY for breaking news. For the week, TODAY topped GMA in the key demo A25-54 posting 2.063 million viewers - a 19k viewer advantage over GMA's 2.044 million. This marks TODAY's first outright win in the demo since the week of Jan 28, 2013.
TODAY also notched its best total viewer delivery since the week of Nov 5, 2012, posting its narrowest total viewer gap with GMA in a month (since the week of 3/18).

TODAY II (9 a.m. hour) and TODAY III (10 a.m. hour) Highlights:
TODAY II
TODAY II (3.658 million total viewers, 1.1 A25-54 rating) posted its highest total viewer and W25-54 deliveries since the week of December 31, 2012 and highest W18-49 and A25-54 ratings since the week of January 28, 2013. Versus 2Q'13-to-date levels, TODAY II was up +2 tenths in W18-49 and +3 tenths in W25-54.
The View (3.027 million total viewers, 0.7 A25-54 rating) trailed TODAY II in total viewers for the fifth straight week and in six of the past seven weeks. The
ABC broadcast was down slightly in total viewers versus the first two weeks of 2Q'13.
TODAY III
TODAY III (2.002 million total viewers, 0.7 A25-54 rating) had three-week highs in total viewers and A25-54 rating.
The Talk (2.052 million total viewers, 0.6 A25-54 rating) saw its total viewer delivery decline for the fourth straight week and its lowest audience and women demo ratings since the week of September 3, 2012.
