Freestyle Digital Media (FDM), in association with Ocean Avenue Entertainment, announces that they will release a director's cut of TO END ALL WARS, the critically-acclaimed drama directed by David L. Cunningham ("The Seeker: The Dark is Rising") which stars Robert Carlyle ("Once Upon a Time"), Kiefer Sutherland ("24") and Mark Strong ("Zero Dark Thirty"). The film was produced by Cunningham and by Jack Hafer ("Not That Funny") and is slated for a VOD release today, March 26th, 2013.
This new Director's Cut incorporates never-before-seen footage that expands on the original film's compelling story and redemptive message. Cunningham has also carefully digitally re-mastered the film in HD and removed the most offensive language, allowing the film to be enjoyed by a much wider audience.TO END ALL WARS is one of the most important inspirational movies based on a true story that also influenced the classic film "Bridge on the River Kwai." At the height of World War II, Capt. Ernest Gordon and a group of Allied soldiers are captured and held in Singapore. At the camp, the POWs are forced by their Japanese enemies to build a railroad. At first, escape is their priority, but when the commanding officer is ruthlessly killed the men are left divided. The second in command starts planning a most-likely suicidal takeover of the camp. Capt. Gordon feels they should look within themselves and forgive their captures in order to better cope with the horrendous circumstances. The rival values lead to split loyalties within the camp, and reveal that amidst so much physical suffering, ultimately the most treacherous war is the one fought within. TO END ALL WARS is an epic story of courage and forgiveness. It's about the triumph of the human spirit over inhumanity, and the journey from the prison of self-survival to the freedom of self-sacrifice. The new Director's Cut emphasizes these themes with the addition of scenes that enhance the dramatic character arc of Lt. Reardon (Keifer Sutherland) and Dusty (Mark Strong).Videos
