TLC is partnering with Time Inc's PEOPLE for the first time in NEW BODY, NEW STYLE, an all-new one-hour special that follows the weight loss journeys of two women who lost half of their body weight and finally shed their insecurities with life-changing makeovers. Fashion & beauty expert Mary Alice Stephenson guides them through their emotional journeys and teaches them how to style their new slim figures, and reclaim their confidence. NEW BODY, NEW STYLE premieres Friday, January 2 at 10/9c on TLC.
TLC teamed up with PEOPLE, the world's most popular magazine, to makeover one of the women, 26 year-old Annabelle, who is also featured in the magazine's annual "Half Their Size" issue, which hits newsstands nationwide on Tuesday, Dec. 23. PEOPLE's Style & Beauty Director, Andrea Lavinthal makes a special guest appearance and provides fashion and makeover tips at Annabelle's PEOPLE photo shoot.
Since childhood, Annabelle has struggled with her weight and weighed 328 pounds by the time she graduated high school. Thanks to healthy diet and exercise, Annabelle lost 140 pounds in just one year and currently weighs 155 pounds. Now, with only three days to get ready for her PEOPLE photo shoot, she meets with
Mary Alice, who is under pressure to help Annabelle let go of the hurt and insecurity she felt after many years of being overweight, and to give her the confidence to show off her new body.
Mary Alice also visits Lori, 40, whose weight grew to 240 pounds after the birth of her first child. Using food as an emotional comfort, things took a turn for the worst when Lori couldn't leave the house, ashamed of her appearance. Finally, she started utilizing her work's "get healthy" program, and lost 120 pounds - half of her weight. Now, she doesn't know how to dress her new body, relying on ill-filling hand-me-downs.
Mary Alice helps Lori embrace the positive results she achieved and discover the right approach to her style - just in time to attend an important company event.
NEW BODY, NEW STYLE is produced by Shed Media for TLC.
