An all-new THEATER TALK presents playwright Danai Gurira, actress Lupita Nyong'o and director Liesl Tommy discussing their collaboration on Eclipsed, Gurira's powerful drama about young women kidnapped and used as "wives" by warlords in the Liberian civil war. The play explores the women's strategies to survive and their struggle to find a way out of their situation for all the women in their country.
Co-hosted by Susan Haskins and and Michael Riedel of the New York Post, this latest edition of THEATER TALK premieres in the New York metropolitan area on THIRTEEN/wnet Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:30 AM (early Saturday) and repeats there Sunday, April 10 at 11:30 AM. It also airs on CUNY TV* Saturday, April 9 at 8:30 PM, Sunday, April 10 at 12:30 PM, and Monday, April 11 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM; and on WLIW/21 on Monday, April 11 at 5:30 PM - a total of 7 showings this week.
THEATER TALK is jointly produced by the not-for-profits Theater Talk Productions and CUNY TV. The program is taped in the Himan Brown TV and Radio Studios at The City University of New York (CUNY) TV in Manhattan, and is distributed to 100+ participating public television stations nationwide.
