THE VOICE Ties As #1 Show Of The Week For March 4-10  Image

NBC has finished #2 among the Big 4 networks in primetime ratings for the week of March 4-10 in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics (including a tie in men 18-34), according to "live plus same day" viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Monday's "The Voice" tied as the week's #1 program in the 18-49 demo and Tuesday "Voice" ranked #4. "This Is Us" tied for #5, giving NBC three of the week's top five highest-rated primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. Joining them in the top 20 were "New Amsterdam" (tied for #15) and "The Enemy Within" (tied for #18).

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics. In total viewers, excluding sports, NBC is running within 1.358 million persons of #1 CBS, NBC's closest position to #1 in total viewers at this point in the season, excluding sports, in 16 years, since trailing by 767,000 persons at this time in 2002-03.

Weekly ratings are "live plus same day" figures from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date ratings are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

NBC highlights for the week of March 4-10:

Monday

NBC tied for the Monday win in adults 18-49 and won the night outright in adults 25-54 and total viewers.

"The Voice" (2.1 rating in 18-49, 11.0 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) retained 100% of the prior week's season premiere in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 2.1) and grew +2% in total viewers (11.0 million vs. 10.8 million). Note that the year-ago Week 2 Monday telecast retained 89% of Week 1's result in 18-49 and 94% in total viewers. THE MARCH 4 "Voice" equaled the show's highest 18-49 rating on any night since Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 (2.2) and delivered the show's most-watched telecast since Tuesday, March 13, 2018 (11.2 million), while scoring. as the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Voice" equaled the second Monday telecast of the prior cycle in 18-49 (2.1 vs. 2.1 on Oct. 1, 2018) and increased by 9% in total viewers (10.965 million vs. 10.057 million).

"Live Plus 35 Day Plus Digital" Ratings: Monday's "The Voice" has grown by +61% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.73 to a 2.79).

"The Enemy Within" (0.9 rating in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 92% of the previous week's series premiere in total viewers (5.3 million vs. 5.8 million), nearly matching the 93% of CBS' "FBI," which has delivered the #1 best Week 1-to-Week 2 retention in total viewers among 20 new scripted series on the Big 4 networks so far this season. THE MARCH 4 "Enemy" ranked #1 in the timeslot among the ABC, CBS and NBC dramas men 18-49 (tie) and men 25-54, and improved by +16% on NBC's Monday 10-11 p.m. timeslot average last season in total viewers (5.3 million vs. 4.6 million). L+3: "Enemy" grew by +48% in 18-49 (0.94 to 1.39) and +2.3 million viewers overall (5.3 million to 7.6 million) going from L+SD to L+3.

Tuesday

NBC won the night among the Big 4 in adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 25-54 and total viewers, with the #1-2 shows of the night in both 18-49 and total viewers.

"The Voice" (1.9 rating in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, winning the time period over the special Tuesday "Bachelor" in adults 18-49, adults, men and women 25-54 and total viewers. Versus the second Tuesday episode of the prior cycle, THE MARCH 5 "Voice" grew +6% in 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.8 on Oct. 2, 2018) and +9% in total viewers (10.2 million vs. 9.4 million). L+35+Digital: The Tuesday edition of "The Voice" has increased by +62% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.67 to a 2.68).

"This Is Us" (1.7 rating in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET) was the #2 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and total viewers, behind only "The Voice." "Us" won the 9-10 p.m. timeslot in adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 25-54 and total viewers. "Us"increased its audience for a second consecutive telecast (from 7.4 million on Feb. 12 to 7.6 million on Feb. 19 to 7.8 million on March 5) to its most-watched episode since Jan. 22 (8.2 million). L+7: "This Is Us" is increasing by +86% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.11 to a 3.92) and +5.5 million viewers overall (8.5 million to 14.0 million) going from L+SD to L+7. The gain of +1.81 rating points in 18-49 is the #1 strongest average L+7 lift on television this season and the increase of +5.508 million viewers is television's #3 biggest L+7 gain. L+35+Digital: "This Is Us" has grown by +237% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 2.11 to a 7.11).

"New Amsterdam" (1.0 rating in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the timeslot in adults 18-49 by a +25% margin (1.0 vs. 0.8 for ABC's "The Rookie") and also ranked #1 or tied for #1 in total viewers and every other key ratings measure. THE MARCH 5 episode was the show's most-watched since its fall finale (6.3 million on Nov. 27, 2018). In 18-49, "New Amsterdam" maintained a steady 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 for a sixth consecutive telecast.L+7: "New Amsterdam" has grown by +104% in 18-49 rating (from a 1.21 to a 2.47) and +5.3 million viewers overall (6.3 million to 11.6 million) going from L+SD to L+7. The gain of +5.337 million viewers is the #4 biggest L+7 lift on television so far this season. L+35+Digital: "New Amsterdam" has grown by +237% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 1.21 to a 4.08).

Wednesday

A rebroadcast of "Chicago Med" averaged a 0.6 rating in 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET.

An encore telecast of "Chicago Fire" (0.6 rating in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the hour in total viewers behind only ABC's "American Idol" Wednesday special. THE MARCH 6 encore equaled "Fire's" top rating for a rebroadcast since Sept. 14, 2017 (0.7).

An encore "Chicago P.D." (0.6 rating in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) finished #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and total viewers ahead of CBS' original "World's Best."

Thursday

"Superstore" (0.8 rating in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET) grew +14% versus the show's prior telecast of 12 weeks earlier in 18-49 (0.8 vs. 0.7 for the show's fall finale on Dec. 13, 2018) and +3% in total viewers (3.1 million vs. 3.0 million). L+35+Digital: "Superstore" generates +44% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #2 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule, behind only "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

The Season 2 debut of "A.P. Bio" (0.5 rating in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET) rated within 0.1 of where the show concluded its prior season in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.6 with its season finale on May 3, 2018) and within 7% in total viewers (1.9 million vs. 2.0 million). L+7: Last season, "A.P. Bio" is increased by +52% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 0.73 to a 1.11) and +883,000 viewers overall (2.7 million to 3.5 million). With the addition of 35 days of linear and projected non-linear ratings, the "A.P. Bio" figure grew to a 1.89. Digital: "A.P. Bio" was one of NBC's top digital performers last season, drawing more than one-third (36%) of its total L+35 rating from digital sources, the #1 highest percentage on the NBC primetime schedule last season.Upscale: Last season, "A.P. Bio" generated one of the most highly educated audiences among Big 4 primetime shows -- indexing at a 148 among adults 18-49 with four or more years of college to rank tied for #4 among primetime series on the Big 4 networks.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers overall from 9-9:30 p.m. ET) built on its lead-in by +20% in 18-49 and +6% in total viewers, while winning the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in men 18-34. L+35+Digital: "B99" derives +55% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #1 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule.

"Will & Grace" (0.7 rating in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) grew +17% week to week in 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.6) and +12% in total viewers (2.6 million vs. 2.4 million), to equal the show's highest 18-49 rating since Feb. 7 (0.8) and delivers its most-watched episode since Feb. 14 (2.9 million).L+35+Digital: "Will & Grace" has increased by +221% in the 18-49 demo going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.78 to a 2.50).

An encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" averaged a 0.5 rating in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET.

Friday

"Blindspot" (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET), with its first telecast in three weeks, retained 100% of the show's prior episode in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5 on Feb. 15) and grew +9% in total viewers (3.156 million vs. 2.904 million).

"The Blacklist" (0.5 rating in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) matched NBC's season average in the Friday, 9-10 p.m. timeslot prior to "Blacklist" in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.5, L+SD non-sports) and was up +1.1 million persons or +40% in total viewers (3.8 million vs. 2.7 million). L+7: "Blacklist" is growing by +119% in 18-49 rating this season going from L+SD to L+7 (0.57 to a 1.25) and more than +3.3 million viewers overall (3.9 million to 7.3 million).L+35+Digital: "Blacklist" is increasing by +191% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+35+Digital (from a 0.57 to a 1.66).

"Dateline NBC" (0.6 rating in 18-49, 0.8 in adults 25-54, 3.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 100% week to week in adults 18-49 (0.6 vs. 0.6) and adults 25-54 (0.8 vs. 0.8).

Sunday

An encore telecast of "Ellen's Game of Games" averaged a 0.5 rating in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall from 7-8 p.m. ET.

"World of Dance" (0.8 rating in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the competitive two-hour timeslot from 8-10 p.m. in adults 18-49 and was #2 outright among those nets in adults 25-54. For its second hour from 9-10 p.m., "World" ranked #2 outright among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 L+7: Last summer's "World of Dance" grew by +42% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.40 to a 1.99) and +2.1 million viewers overall (6.4 million to 8.5 million).

"Good Girls" (0.6 rating in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the timeslot in adults 18-34 and ranked #1 outright in women 18-34.L+7: Last season "Good Girls" increased by +48% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.02 to a 1.51) and more than +1.6 million viewers overall (4.4 million to 6.1 million). L+35+Digital: When 35-day linear and projected non-linear viewing was included, the "Good Girls" 18-49 rating increased to a 2.16.
