"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" has finished #1 for the late-night ratings week of May 15-19 versus its ABC and CBS time-period competition in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54 - while delivering a six-week high in adult 18-49 rating, according to "live plus same day" results from Nielsen Media Research.
For the week, "Tonight" averaged a 0.68 rating in adults 18-49, to lengthen its lead over CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" (0.52) to a +31% margin, up from +27% for the prior week and +15% for the week before that. Versus ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (0.38), Fallon won the week by +79%, up from +65% the previous week and +50% the week before that. Note that last week's Friday "Kimmel" was an encore.
The 0.68 is "Tonight's" highest rating since the week of April 3-7 (0.68), The last time "Tonight" rated higher was the week of March 13-17 (0.75).
Season to date, "The Tonight Show" wins the timeslot versus its ABC and CBS competition in every key demographic.
At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" scored its highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in nine weeks (0.37 in 18-49, 1.433 million viewers, best since a 0.39 in 18-49, 1.496 million viewers for the week of March 13-17).
