THE TONIGHT SHOW, LATE NIGHT Take Timeslots in Total Viewers, Key Demos

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers" both handily defeated their respective ABC and CBS timeslot competition in key demos and total viewers for the week of July 14-18.

"The Tonight Show" drew 1.05 in the 18-49 demo, up 28% from a year ago (0.82), besting the combined ratings of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Late Show with David Letterman." "Jimmy Kimmel Live" delivered a 0.56 in a week of repeat telecasts and "Late Show with David Letterman" averaged a 0.43 in Monday through Thursday originals, with a Friday encore.

In total viewers, Fallon registered 3.59 million for the week, up 2% from a year ago. Kimmel scored 2.19 million and Letterman 2.37 million.

At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (all originals except for a Friday encore) posted a 0.46 in the 18-49 demo rating for the week. Despite starting an hour later, Meyers defeated Letterman in the demo.

"Late Night" was also better than "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (0.26) and "Nightline" (0.37).
