Former star of THE OFFICE, B.J. Novak, is setting his sights on the short-form for his next gig.
Novak has officially signed a seven-figure book deal with Alfred A. Knopf, the publisher announced today. The deal covers two-books, both works of short fiction.
The actor and writer's short stories will be adapted from a series of live skits he performed when he was a member of the improv group Upright Citizens Brigade.
Novak's first collection is set for publication in 2014.
Novak, a native of Boston, is best known for his role as 'Ryan Howard' on NBC's THE OFFICE, in which he also served as a writer. He can currently be seen on Minday Kaling's new series, THE MINDY PROJECT. Novak has also appeared in such films as KNOCKED UP and Quentin Tarantino's INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.
