Via Deadline.com, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL nominated four 4 Golden Globes on Sunday is adding to its list of good news with word that the film topped the box office in 2014 for Specialty films. They report that "The film outpaced second ranked ST. VINCENT by just over $16M. In all, the 2014 Specialty Top 10 amounted to over $277.6 million, about 10% greater than last year's $249.2M-plus Top 10 total, which included titles Instructions Not Included, Oscar-winner 12 YEARS A SLAVE and Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine. "
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL Hotel was written and directed by Wes Anderson and inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig. It starred Ralph Fiennes as a concierge who teams up with one of his employees (Tony Revolori) to prove his INNOCENCE after he is framed for murder.
The film led the BAFTA nominations, with 11 nominations, more than any other film, with awards including; Best Film, Best Director for Anderson and Best Actor for Fiennes.. The film garnered four Golden Globe Award nominations, including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Director.
