Today, June 29th, The Caterpillar's Kimono, a feature film based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, will screen at New York City's Quad Cinemas as part of the Manhattan Film Festival.

Update: The screening will now take place at Hunter College, West Theater, 6th floor. 695 Park Ave New York, NY 10065

Set in glitzy Las Vegas, The Caterpillar's Kimono is the bittersweet story of a lonely American widower returning to Las Vegas to reconnect with his yuppie family and prove his worth as a father to his nine-year-old daughter.

As Asian-American director Bailey Kobe sums it up, "One of Fitzgerald's lesser-known stories, this tale reflects the effects of excess on his generation in the 1930s with a story that resonates just as much in 2013 -- this is the perfect indie counterpoint to a mega-film like Gatsby."

Among a cast plucked from the best of indie-film, television, Broadway and the Internet, the film features Ben Savage, star of ABC's iconic Boy Meets World, and this season's most anticipated new television series, Girl Meets World, who plays a father for the very first time in The Caterpillar's Kimono. Alongside Savage, the cast includes Joey Kern (Cabin Fever, Super Troopers), Julie McNiven (Mad Men, Supernatural), Broadway-star Mary Catherine Garrison(Tony Award-winning Assassins and Lend Me a Tenor), 32nd Annual Young Artist Award NomineeHailey Sole (Private Practice), Aja Evans (Justified), Brian Gallivan (Happy Endings, Sassy Gay Friend), Anthony Russell (Casino, Life with Bonnie), and Christine Haeberman (finalist Scream Queens).

All proceeds from the screening will go to Hire Heroes USA, a charity that helps returning veterans find jobs.

Director Bailey Kobe is a graduate of the Peter Stark Program at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts and the Upright Citizens Brigade, well known in Europe for his elegant music videos for French artists such as superstar Marc Lavoine.
