THE BACHELORETTE Hits 7-Week Ratings High for ABC

Featuring The Bachelorette and The Glass House, ABC continued to stand as Monday's 2nd-most-watched network overall to NBC (Olympic Trials overrun/America's Got Talent), topping Fox's unscripted originals by 7% (Hell's Kitchen/MasterChef). For the 3rd week running, ABC finished #1 on the evening with key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49).

· Surging 11% week to week in Adults 18-49, the Net posted a summer high on the night with its top number in 6 weeks - best since 5/21/12.

Growing week to week from 8-10pm, ABC's THE BACHELORETTE ranked #1 in its slot with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 (3rd straight week). In addition, for the 7th consecutive week, the ABC unscripted program led its time period across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54), while registering as Monday's #1 TV show for the 4th week running on all three measures.

· Up week to week in Adults 18-49 (+9%) and Adults 18-34 (+5%), The Bachelorette scored best-since-premiere ratings on both measures - 7-week highs, since 5/14/12.

From 10-11pm opposite the final hour of NBC's America's Got Talent, ABC's The Glass House once again ran #2 against its network rivals with Adults 18-49 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49). The new ABC series also earned second place in its slot with Adults 25-54.

· The Glass House gained week to week in viewers and young adults.

Monday Night (8:00-11:00 p.m.)

Featuring "The Bachelorette" and "The Glass House," ABC (6.0 million) continued to stand as Monday's 2nd-most-watched network overall to NBC (Olympic Trials overrun/"America's Got Talent"), topping Fox's unscripted originals by 7% (5.6 million - "Hell's Kitchen"/"MasterChef"). For the 3rd week running, ABC finished No. 1 on the evening with key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49).

· Surging 11% week to week in Adults 18-49 (2.1/6 vs. 1.9/6), the Net posted a summer high on the night with its top number in 6 weeks - best since 5/21/12.

Growing week to week from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "The Bachelorette" ranked No. 1 in its slot with Adults 18-49 (2.5/8-tie) and Adults 18-34 (2.1/7 - 3rd straight week). In addition, for the 7th consecutive week, the ABC unscripted program led its time period across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54), while registering as Monday's No. 1 TV show for the 4th week running on all three measures.

"The Glass House" (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

From 10:00-11:00 p.m. opposite the final hour of NBC's "America's Got Talent," ABC's "The Glass House" once again ran No. 2 against its network rivals with Adults 18-49 (1.2/3) and key Women (W18-34/W18-49). The new ABC series also earned second place in its slot with Adults 25-54.

· "The Glass House" gained week to week in viewers and young adults.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 44% currently, from 41% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
