TBS secures rights to TNT Comedy Original ARTHUR'S LAW

Unlucky Arthur Ahnepol conquers the USA: TBS, the comedy channel of Turner US, has secured the rights to Arthur's Law , the first fictional in-house production of his German sister station TNT Comedy. Both the format development and the broadcast of the original with English subtitles are planned. As the highest-grossing comedy channel in the target group of 18- to 49-year-olds, TBS is one of the top 5 broadcasters in US cable television with its original features such as Full Frontal with Samantha Bee , The Last OG and Final Space .

The unemployed Arthur Ahnepol (Jan Josef Liefers) seeks out a desolate existence. Drawn to the rigors of his unfortunate marriage and bored to death, he one day forges a risky plan: his obnoxious wife is to be buried under the ground. With the money from the life insurance would be a restart with his lover nothing in the way. But an unwritten law dominates the life of the unlucky man: every problem solved by Arthur has a far worse outcome. And so he unleashes an avalanche of disastrous events.

Arthur's Law was recently nominated for the German Television Award in two categories, including Best Comedy Series. Martina Gedeck ( The Lives of Others ) and Nora Tschirner ( Keinohrhasen , Tatort ) are seen alongside Liefers ( Tatort ) in supporting roles. Other characters include Ronald Kukulies ( vineyard ), Cristina do Rego ( Pastewka , Doctor's Diary ) and Robert Gallinowski ( Naked among wolves ). The director is Christian Zübert ( Lommbock), who has won several awards both as an author and as a director (including Grimme Prize in the category "Best Director" for the crime scene: Never again be free ). The executive producers are Moritz von der Groeben and Nataly Kudiabor from good friends and Anke Greifeneder, who also has the editorial board, and Hannes Heyelmann. Benjamin Gutsche is responsible for the books as head author as well as Ceylan Yildirim and Sebastian Bleyl, the camera was taken over by Ngo The Chau (inter alia German Television Award for the crime scene: Scheherazade and Die To Die too soon ).
