Sylvester Stallone took to Instagram this week to announce that he will not be directing the upcoming CREED 2. Instead, the sequel will be helmed by newcomer Steven Caple, Jr.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the 71-year-old Academy Award winner explained: "The character of Adonis Creed reflects this generation, and I believe it is important to have a director who is part of it, that is why I think we are lucky to have Stephen (sic) Caple Jr., a wonderful new talent, take over the directorial chores and make the story as relatable as possible... He and Michael B. Jordan will deliver a knockout!" Caple Jr. made his feature film debut THE LAND, which premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival. His other credits include the short film, "The Land of Misfits" He will also direct the season finale of Freeform's "Black-ish" spinoff "Grown-ish."Read the Instagram post below!
