Syfy Saturday Original Movies in February will pay homage to the imagination and passion of science fiction fans everywhere along with scaring the heebie jeebies out of its viewers on the Most Dangerous Night on Television.
February also brings the world television premiere of the eagerly anticipated 2-hour movie version of Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome. This new chapter in the Battlestar Galactica franchise airs Sunday, February 10 at 9PM (ET/PT) and contains additional footage not previously seen in the weekly web series version which debuted on YouTube's premium channel Machinima Prime, drawing upwards of 8 million total views.
Kicking off the month on Saturday, February 9 at 9PM will be Heebie Jeebies, starring
Robert Belushi (Valentine's Day),
Marion Ross (
Happy Days) and Cathy Shim (MADtv). In the movie, gold miners trapped hundreds of years ago come back to life as a
Supernatural monster seeking revenge. When the creature comes into contact with its victims, it inflicts an uncontrollable fear (the heebie jeebies) before tearing them apart. Heebie Jeebies is a production of MPCA.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the midst of the first Cylon war, as the battle between humans and their creation -- the sentient robotic Cylons -- rages across the 12 colonial worlds. Gifted fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino, The Borgias), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Ben Cotton (Alcatraz) and Lili Bordán (Silent Witness) also star. Leveraging cutting edge CGI and virtual set technology, Blood & Chrome is produced by Universal Cable Productions, a division of NBCUniversal, and the award-winning producing team of Battlestar Galactica. David Eick is executive producer along with
Michael Taylor.
In this valentine to science fiction fans, End of the World, premiering Saturday, February 23 at 9PM, plasma rain causes massive power surges, collapsing communication networks and reducing cities into piles of ash. Two small town sci-fi fan boys who run a video store dig deep into their vast knowledge of disaster films to find a plan that might save humanity. A production of Cinetel, End of the World stars Neil Grayston (Eureka), Brad Dourif (Lord of the Rings) and
Greg Grunberg (Heroes).
