Deadline writes that Syfy has gone straight to series with 13 episodes of the new drama HUNTERS (working title), based on Whitley Strieber's novel ALIEN HUNTER. The project, from Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd and writer Natalie Chaidez (Heroes), will premiere in 2016.

HUNTERS will follow "the disappearance of a decorated Philadelphia cop's wife, which leads him to a secret government unit assembled to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists - shadowy figures that may or may not be from this world".

"This fast-paced and innovative program takes viewers inside a chilling yet all too familiar world," Syfy president Dave Howe said.
