Supermodel Christie Brinkley has been gracing magazine covers for four decades - more than 500 in all, including three consecutive SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT editions and more - yet she gets upset when she's called a former model, she tells Mark Phillips in an interview for CBS SUNDAY MORNING to be broadcast Nov. 20 (9:00 AM ET) on the CBS Television Network.
Though the number of magazine covers has fluctuated over time as her career expanded to acting and other ventures, Brinkley, 62, maintains she's never gone away. "I never felt like I retired," she tells Phillips. "I always get a little bit insulted when I read 'former model.' I'm like, 'former?' What do they think I've been doing all this time? I'm still here. I haven't gone anywhere." Indeed, these days Brinkley is using her image as well as her business expertise as the head of her own wine label, Bellissima, which produces a new line of Prosecco. "Oh, I'm involved in every aspect of this," Brinkley tells Phillips in an interview featured as part of CBS SUNDAY MORNING's annual "Eat, Drink & Be Merry" food-themed edition. Phillips traveled to the picturesque Veneto region of Italy, an hour north of Venice, to talk with Brinkley about her wine business, grapes, her career and life before the camera.Videos
