As first reported on Deadline.com, Chris Mintz-Plasse is set to star in the upcoming CBS comedy pilot, FRIEND ME. The role marks the first time the actor will be a featured character in a TV series.

FRIEND ME is scripted by Alan Kirschenbaum and Ajay Sahgal and will follow the story of twenty-something best friends, Evan (Mintz-Plasse) and Rob (Nicholas Braun), who move to Los Angeles from their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana to start new lives working at Groupon.

Mintz-Plasse is currently filming the CBS Films’ comedy Get A Job opposite Braun. His only previous TV credit was a guest spot on Starz’s Party Down. The actor is best known for his role as Fogell/McLovin in the teen comedy, Super Bad. He has also appeared on the big screen in Role Models, Kick-Ass, How To Trail Your Dragon and Fright Night and will soon lend his voice to the animated features ParaNorman and How To Train Your Dragon 2.
