Suki Waterhouse has been cast as Sandra Wolsfeld, MISS USA in the upcoming film Misbehaviour, starring Keira Knightley, according to Deadline.
The dramedy, which is currently in production, is being produced by Left Bank Pictures. The film is set against the backdrop of the 1970 MISS WORLD competition in London, hosted by Bob Hope. The newly formed Women's Liberation Movement achieved overnight fame by invading the stage and disrupting the live broadcast of the beauty contest. When the show resumed, the result caused uproar: the winner was not the Swedish favorite but Miss Grenada - the first black woman to be crowned Miss World.
The film also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessie Buckley, Keeley Hawes, Rhys Ifans, Greg Kinnear, Lesley Manville and Phyllis Logan. Misbehaviour will be directed by Philippa Lowthorpe with a screenplay from Rebecca Frayn with revisions by Gaby Chiappe. Pathé handles sales.
Last year Waterhouse is best known for starring in Assassination Nation and The White Princess. She has many films coming up, including Pokémon Detective Pikachu, Killers Anonymous, Bittersweet Symphony and Burn.
