The new multi generational drama The Fifth Borough takes place on Staten Island. It's all about families. All kinds of families. You're born into some, invited into others. When Nick's daughter is diagnosed with a brain tumor he needs money. Lots of it! On Staten Island your options might seem limited but you always have family.
Families aren't always about blood. But they are about Trust. Secrets. Loyalty. Traditions provide a history and rules to be passed down. Old habits die hard. So should your enemies. Oh yes, blood will be spilled.
Starring a strong New York-based cast, the series centers around Staten Island local Steve Stanulis (The Networker, Long Shot Louie) as Nico (Nick) Lehoux whose family is turned upside down when his daughter Skylar is diagnosed with a brain tumor. He turns to some "Family" friends for quick cash.
The Island Family business is run by Angelo (Vincent Pastore/ The Sopranos). His nephews are Sonny (Jeremy Luke/ Sully) and Charlie (Joseph Russo/ Jersey Boys) who are friends with Nick. They're an informal crew along with Finn (Vincent Young/ 90210) and Mark (Wass Stevens/ Public Morals). When cousin Francesco, (Richard Grieco/ 22 Jump Street) returns from California to find his place at the table has been filled, things get interesting.
To top it off, Nick has to return to a life he thought he had left behind. Happily married for years to Sophia, (Ashley C Williams/ Julia) with two children, Sophia's job as an Assistant District Attorney mean Nick's illegal activities are going to have to stay well hidden for everyone's sake.
There's plenty of drama and an excellent supporting cast with strong female roles and a host of local NY actors. Directed by John Bianco (Daredevil & The Sopranos).
