As first reported on EWonline.com, actor Steve Buscemi will direct and guest-star in today's episode of the NBC comedy 30 ROCK. The actor has directed and made multiple appearances on the sitcom in past seasons.
Buscemi will reprise his role as private detective Len Wosniak. Tina Fey, creator and star of the show revealed to EWonline, “After Jack (Alec Baldwin) gets mugged, he tries to reach out to his connections on the police force, [saying,] ‘I know Commissioner Ray Kelly. We have a column in IRISH ARGUMENTS WEEKLY, the only all-caps magazine. But he hasn’t gotten back to me on this.’ Jack wants Len to help him form a private police force where the salary starts at $5 million, so the police have the same interest in protecting the rich.”
Buscemi recently won a Golden Globe award for his starring role in HBO's Boardwalk Empire. He has appeared Off-Broadway in the production of 'The Exonerated'. His film credits include "Mystery Train", "Reservoir Dogs", "Fargo", "The Big Lebowski", "Armageddon", "Ghost World", "The Sopranos", "The Messenger", and "Youth In Revolt". The actor can next be seen in the film "On The Road" directed by Walter Salles.
Buscemi has also worked as a writer and director, with film directing credits including "Trees Lounge", "Animal Factory", "Lonesome Jim", and "Interview". In addition, he is an Emmy nominated television director for his work on "The Sopranos", and has recently helmed episodes of "30 Rock" and "Nurse Jackie".
