StarLite Film Festival Now Taking Submissions; Deadline Set for 10/30

The third annual StarLite Film Festival, taking place January 23 - 26, 2014 at the Garden Theatre (160 W Plant St, Winter Garden), announces deadlines for film submissions.

This one-of-a-kind micro-budget film festival promotes the screening and development of feature-length narrative films from across the globe that are produced, shot and completed for a total budget under $200,000. Over the course of four days, the film festival will feature hand-selected films screened at the Garden Theatre in historic downtown Winter Garden.

Earliest Deadline: 7/31 - $20 mail/$15 online
Really Early Deadline: 8/27 - $25 mail/$20 online
Early Deadline: 9/26 - $30 mail/$25 online
Regular Deadline: 10/30 - $45 mail/$30 online

The festival is seeking narrative feature length films (between 70-110 minutes). Award categories include: Best Domestic Film, Best International Film, Audience Choice Award, and the Board of Directors Choice Award.

The Garden Theatre first introduced the StarLite Film Festival in 2012 with an attendance of 900. In 2013, there were three visiting filmmakers from New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City. Audiences were excited to hear comments by keynote speaker, Robin Cowie, the producer of the famous and wildly successful micro-budget film The Blair Witch Project. The 2013 festival also saw a new way to give back to the community with filmmakers sharing their experience with students at Dr. Phillips High School.

This one-of-a-kind StarLite Film Festival highlights micro-budget movies from around the world produced, shot and directed for under $200,000. The film festival is named after the original StarLite Drive-in Theater built in 1949.
