TRANSFORMERS 4 director Michael Bay announced at last night's CinemaCon in Las Vegas that Stanley Tucci has signed on to the cast of Paramount Pictures upcoming sequel. The actor will join previously announced cast members Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz. Bay also revealed that he will shortly announce another "mysterious young actor" who will also appear in the film.

Tucci made his Broadway debut in The Queen and the Rebels on September 30, 1982. Tucci is known for his work in films such as The Pelican Brief, Kiss of Death, Road to Perdition and Big Night, and in the television series Murder One as the mysterious Richard Cross.

He also received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Winchell. He was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actor in a Play for his role as Johnny in the 2002 revival of Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.

Ehren Kruger's script for the fourth film, acts as a bit of a reexamination of the series, centering on an adult and his teenager, with the latter set up to take over the franchise. A new take is probably necessary, as the TRANSFORMERS series has generally been panned by critics in its later endeavors. Regardless, each film has brought in box office record busting numbers.

TRANSFORMERS 4 is set for release on June 29, 2014.
